Janice has been the trainer for my two Golden Retrievers. I have nothing but admiration for her training methodology and abilities to mold not only the dogs, but me as the owner. She only uses positive reinforcement techniques which are fun and contribute to building a solid bond.Rick C. Head of Pet Therapy Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs

My husband Dan & I would like to tell you how much Janice Mann of Canine Contentment has helped us with our rescued rough collie, Tonto.

When we adopted Tonto, at age 2, he was more than likely an outside dog. Very skittish and frightened of inside noises and sudden moves, wanted to only go in his 4 "safe zones" he liked in our home. We thought that by closing off these areas, he would have to get used to noises and movements. But we were wrong. We loved him so much, we enlisted Jan's help.

She has such patience, not only with animals, but their humans as well. What we were doing was so wrong. Jan taught us all that we needed to let Tonto make his own choices.

She made it fun for him to come to us, with "get it" games, and taught us that we had to go slowly with him, after all, these were traits he had for a long time.

It has taken a lot of patience and time, and training and help from Jan, that we are now, 8 months later, realizing the benefits to her methods. He now will come out of his safe zone on his own, tail wagging , looking for us and lying down on his mat and will even go up to strangers that come into our home. He now plays with toys, squeaky ones, which before Jan, would send him into a tizzy.

Jan's method of behavior modification WORKS!! Slow, sure and steady, all in time. We loved him so much and wouldn't give up on him and with Jan's help, he is now an active part of our family!Gerri and Dan A.

Janice has volunteered for Pikes Peak Hospice for 17 years. I have known her for 7 of those years. She helped teach me how to understand K-9 behavior since I run the Animal Companion program at PPHPC. We have around 15 active therapy dog teams visiting patients. Janice has trained or worked with at least half of those dog teams. Her methods are kind, and reward based which really gives you the best therapy dog possible.

When dogs want to work for attention and treats, they will go to great lengths to please whatever sick or dying person is in front of them. Our Animal Companion program wouldn't be what it is today without Janice's help. She even walks the talk. She brings her Golden Retriever, Daniel, to our Unit at Penrose Hospital every Friday to visit Hospice patients. Janice lives and breathes loving, training, coaching, testing, volunteering with and rewarding dogs to make this world a better place one paw at a time. Thank you Janice Mann!!Nicole M. Peak View Behavioral Health Hospital in Colorado Springs has had the extreme pleasure of working with Janice Mann for the past several years in developing and implementing a very successful animal assisted therapy program at the hospital called ìPeak Pawsî.  Janice has not only been an integral contributor to the administrative part of this program, but has also served as a Handler by bringing in her wonderfully trained and loving Therapy Dogs in to visit with our patients weekly.  This has been a life changing program of which we have Janice to thank for contributing to its success!!!Vicki P.

About 13 years ago my wife and I rescued a sweet black lab (Sweet Pea) that had a difficult start in life. She was 8 months old and was missing a large piece of cartilage in one knee and her opposite leg developed a significant deformity.  She had an uncaring owner and when I did a free consultation she curled up in my lap and laid her head on my shoulder. I whispered in her ear that I was going to take care of her. A short time later she was ours.

After 4 surgeries to improve her quality of life I found Janice Mann to help with her recovery. Janice was compassionate, gentle with her touch and had such an amazing connection with Sweet Pea right off the bat, and Sweet Pea fell in love with her. I have continued to have Janice work on Sweet Pea every other week over all of these years. Now Sweet Pea is approaching 14 and Janiceís magic touch has helped her live a full and active life.Dr. Michael Bauer DVM Colorado Canine Orthopedics

Janice is an extraordinary and passionate dog trainer.  Thanks to Janice, my two dogs and I have learned how to be a great team by using a fun, positive and motivating training process 100% of the time.  As a result, my dogs are not only happy dogs, they are well behaved.  We look forward to our training sessions with Janice, and I won't hesitate to train with her in the future.Amanda W.

You are the only trainer I know who also focuses on getting the dogs to think, instead of just reactLinda G.
